Quote from trebor901 :well not everyone can afford Sony's rip off prices for the PS3.

You could get a 8600GT. For around 50$ you can get one and they perform quite well too.

Get a 7600GT or something then, I doubt you will get any better with such a low budget, unless you go used.

Here are a view of my racing cockpit with the newly made e-brake.

Oh well, I was cleaning stuff around today and I found this:

I drilled a few holes in it, and since it's a ghetto handbrake, I fixed it to the pedal axis with zipties:

This is how the whole thing look:

Ingame the ebrake is working perfectly, very easy to pull and it doesnt get stuck at 15% or so like I saw on some other handbrakes. Next step will be to take the wheel apart and put all the electronics in a small box instead of having the wheel taking up all the space.

Ghetto Handbrake Build

Hi,

I started another thread in this section a couple of days ago because I have to many controller and didnt know what to do with them. TagForce suggested that I use my Thrustmaster's electronics in order to make an e-brake. I decided to do things easier and litterally use the pedals as a e-brake.

I started with those Thrustmaster 360 Modena pedals...

I took them apart so I could see how I would turn them into a e-brake...

And this is my plan. I will screw a piece of wood (Green) in front of the gaz pedal axis. On top of this, I will put the e-brake arm itself (Yellow) which will rotate on a hinge (Grey) and hit the gaz pedal. I took a pot off from the gaz axis so its really easy to put it down, shouldnt break anything once it's finished. Here's the pic:

I will keep this thread updated as I build the thing. Comments welcome.

Really obvious stuff hmm...

A nuclear weapon is an explosive device that derives its destructive force from nuclear reactions, either fission or a combination of fission and fusion. Both reactions release vast quantities of energy from relatively small amounts of matter; a modern thermonuclear weapon weighing little more than a thousand kilograms can produce an explosion comparable to the detonation of more than a billion kilograms of conventional high explosive.[1] Even small nuclear devices can devastate a city. Nuclear weapons are considered weapons of mass destruction, and their use and control has been a major aspect of international policy since their debut.

In the history of warfare, only two nuclear weapons have been detonated offensively, both near the end of World War II. The first was detonated on the morning of 6 August 1945, when the United States dropped a uranium gun-type device code-named "Little Boy" on the Japanese city of Hiroshima. The second was detonated three days later when the United States dropped a plutonium implosion-type device code-named "Fat Man" on the city of Nagasaki, Japan. These bombings resulted in the immediate deaths of around 120,000 people (mostly civilians) from injuries sustained from the explosion and acute radiation sickness, and even more deaths from long-term effects of ionizing radiation. The use of these weapons was and remains controversial. (See atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki for a full discussion.)

Since the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings, nuclear weapons have been detonated on over two thousand occasions for testing purposes and demonstration purposes. The only countries known to have detonated nuclear weapons—and that acknowledge possessing such weapons—are (chronologically) the United States, the Soviet Union (succeeded as a nuclear power by Russia), the United Kingdom, France, the People's Republic of China, India, Pakistan, and North Korea. Israel is also widely believed to possess nuclear weapons, though it does not acknowledge having them. (For more information on these states' nuclear programs, as well as other states that formerly possessed nuclear weapons or are suspected of seeking nuclear weapons, see list of states with nuclear weapons.)

I like all of those things except 1).

I would use it but as I said, it's semi-working. The FFB motor is weak due to a long and painful abuse with GT4 so the Momo is more safe for me. I will try and do what you said with the Thrustmaster though. Thanks for the idea.
Too much controllers

So here's the thing,

I currently have three different steering wheels:

-A working Logitech Momo Racing;
-A semi-working Logitech DFP;
-A broken Thrustmaster 360;

I use the Momo Racing for gaming along with one pedal from the broken Thrustmaster steering wheel as a clutch. The DFP can work but I got too used to Momo for changing.

I would like your ideas on what I could do with those controllers? And how to do it? I tought of doing a dodgy ebrake with the pedals from the DFP but maybe some people got better ideas?

Waiting for your suggestions!
